OMR 2026 opens opportunities for young professionals in the maritime industry

Organizers: Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University (SMTU), LLC “RESTEC EC”, with the support of LLC “Gazprom”.

Industry development is impossible without the people who will shape its future. For the RESTEC team, it is important that professional platforms are open not only to current experts but also to young specialists who are already working on new solutions today.

As part of the OMR 2026, a Youth Forum will be held for participants under 35 years of age.

Young professionals can choose a convenient participation format: present their own paper, take part in a team‑based solution of practical cases, or join the forum as listeners.

The youth session “Modern Methods and Technologies in Support of Ship and Ocean Engineering Design” will focus on the development of marine equipment, Arctic fleet, energy infrastructure, operation of offshore complexes in severe ice conditions, LNG production, and the development of the Northern Sea Route.

Abstracts can be submitted by email to otmt@smtu.ru or lyapunova@restec.ru.

Participants will also be able to join a team case‑solving session on the development of oil and gas fields on the Arctic and Far Eastern continental shelves, titled “Promising Technologies for Development of Continental Shelf Fields of the Russian Federation. The Future Through the Eyes of Youth” (the number of participants is limited to 100 places).

Applications for speaking at the Youth Session can be submitted until August 10, 2026. Registration for participants is open until September 10, 2026. Participation in all events is free of charge. The best papers will be awarded and published in the “Proceedings of OMR 2026”.
