Our history

1990
On November 29, in St. Petersburg, the International Trade and Exhibition Company "RESTEC" (reorganized into the Closed Joint-Stock Company "RESTEC Exhibition Company" in 1997, and subsequently into the Limited Liability Company "RESTEC Exhibition Company" in 2014) commenced its operations.
1991
The company's debut was marked by hosting the first "Office Equipment, Computer and Software Systems" exhibition.
1992
"RESTEC" became a member of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF). The company also organized its first event in the tourism sector – the "Inwetex" exhibition. Initially, the project focused on developing domestic and inbound tourism in Russia, bringing together regional tour operators and international companies.
1993
The "Energy and Electrical Engineering" exhibition was launched for the first time. The "Furniture Salon" was also held, which later became the foundation for developing furniture and interior expositions, as well as the "Tekhnodrev" exhibition for woodworking equipment.

1994
The first "N.I.C.E./Ideal Beauty" cosmetics and perfumery exhibition was held. Additionally, the "InturFest" tourism festival was organized under the umbrella of the "Inwetex" project.
1995
A large-scale socio-cultural project, the "Orthodox Russia" exhibition, was launched. It was held in St. Petersburg for the first time with the blessing of His Holiness Alexy II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
1996
With the support of the Russian Ministry of Science and Technology, the "Hi-Tech" exhibition of inventions, high technologies, and innovations was organized. It became the company's first project in the "Innovation" sector and marked the revival of scientific and industrial exhibitions in Russia.
Within the framework of the event, the "Best Innovative Project and Best Scientific-Technical Development of the Year" competition was established. Over the years, the competition has awarded more than 3,800 scientific developments across various sectors of the national economy.
Through the joint efforts of the exhibition companies "RESTEC" and "LenExpo," the "PromExpo" exhibition was organized, which later evolved into the "Russian Industrialist" forum.
1997
The first Russian exhibition event dedicated to the development of the continental shelf, CIS Offshore, was held. The decision was made to launch the St. Petersburg International Forestry Forum, which subsequently became Russia's largest industry-specific business event.
1998
For the first time, a Russian national pavilion was organized at the major industry exhibition "Offshore Northern Seas" (ONS) in Stavanger, Norway. It featured the participation of CJSC "Roshelf" and enterprises of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Natural Resources. The Russian pavilion was visited by the King of Norway, Harald V.
1999
To support the development of Arctic territories, the International Forum of Northern Territories was held. In St. Petersburg, the first editions of the following exhibitions were organized: MIRR ("Natural Resources of the CIS Countries"), "AquaTerra," "Radiation Safety," "Oil Refining and Petrochemistry" (which later became a central segment of the "Russian Fuel and Energy Complex" Forum), and "Metallurgy," which served as the foundation for a dedicated block of industrial exhibitions.
2000
St. Petersburg hosted the inaugural "Russian Fuel and Energy Complex" Forum, comprising the "Neftegazexpo," "Oil Refining and Petrochemistry," and "North-West Gas Station Network" exhibitions.
The first editions of the "Defectoscopy," "Roads. Bridges. Tunnels," and "Architecture. Urban Planning. Restoration" exhibitions were also held.
As part of the "Metallurgy" project, and in collaboration with the Guild of Blacksmiths and Metal Artists, the city-wide celebration "Day of the Blacksmith" was organized. Today, in a St. Petersburg courtyard, Gavryusha the Dog—forged during that festival—stands guard over a mailbox for letters containing the dreams of the city's residents.
2001
The "RESTEC" Exhibition Company was appointed the official operator of the International Conference and Exhibition on Oil and Gas Resources Development of the Russian Arctic and the CIS Continental Shelf, RAO/CIS Offshore.
2002
In collaboration with Leipziger Messe and the St. Petersburg Committee for State Control, Use, and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments, the St. Petersburg exposition was organized at the "Denkmal" international exhibition for the restoration and preservation of monuments in Leipzig, Germany.
2003
As its operator, RESTEC implemented the "300 Years of St. Petersburg" program in Moscow, St. Petersburg, London, Milan, and Berlin. The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Moscow for the first time, alongside the "St. Petersburg: 300 Years of Spiritual Culture" exhibition. "InturFest" became a key platform for tourism industry professionals.
2004
The first St. Petersburg Technical Fair (PTF) was held—an international industrial event of federal significance, showcasing the entire technological chain of industrial production, from scientific research and metal manufacturing to engineering products.
2005
The implementation of the network exhibition projects "Infocom" and "Tekhnodrev" was launched.
2006
In partnership with Mack Brooks, Exporail—the first Russian exhibition of the latest achievements in railway equipment, technologies, and services—was held in Moscow.
In August, the "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Perm under a franchising agreement.
Together with the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, the first "Enlightenment Through the Book" Publishing Competition was organized.
2007
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Krasnoyarsk and Rostov-on-Don.
2008
As part of the "Days of Russia in Latin America" project, the "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in 7 countries and 9 cities across Latin America: Cuba (Havana), Costa Rica (San José), Venezuela (Caracas), Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo), Argentina (Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata), Chile (Santiago), and Paraguay (Asunción).
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was also held in Veliky Novgorod.
Additionally, Russia Day was organized at OSEA, the largest oil and gas exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, in Singapore.
2009
In partnership with Mack Brooks, the first Russian exhibition for sheet metal processing, "Blech Russia", was held in St. Petersburg.
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was also held in Samara.
2010
The tourism exhibition "Inwetex" was transformed into "Inwetex – CIS Travel Market," becoming a key platform for CIS countries. Tourism offices from Greece, Turkey, and China joined the event.
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Novosibirsk.
2011
The company's portfolio expanded with a new focus area—the pharmaceutical and biotechnology exhibition IPhEB.
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Irkutsk for the first time.
Moscow hosted the 10th Church-Public Exhibition-Forum "Orthodox Russia – Dedicated to the Day of National Unity. The Russian Orthodox Church: Results of Two Decades, 1991-2011" (the first multimedia and interactive exposition, which became the foundation for the "Russia – My History" historical parks project).
The first All-Russian Furniture Summit was held, focusing on enhancing the competitiveness of Russian furniture enterprises ahead of Russia's accession to the WTO.
2012
In partnership with the R&C VNIC, the annual EFEA project was launched for meetings industry professionals in Russia and abroad.
The RESTEC Exhibition Company participated in the preparation and execution of events during Russia's chairmanship of the APEC Forum in Singapore, St. Petersburg, and Vladivostok.
2013
In partnership with Mack Brooks, the Fastener Fair Russia exhibition on fastener products and technologies was successfully held in St. Petersburg, and the ExpoTraffic exhibition on traffic management was held in Moscow.
The Orthodox Russia exhibition was held in Khabarovsk.
The RESTEC Exhibition Company participated in the preparation and execution of bilateral Russian-Finnish, Russian-Chinese, and Russian-Indian forums.
2014
  • RESTEC served as the operator of the Northwestern Regions' exposition at the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi.
  • In collaboration with UBM, the first Russian exhibition on offshore shipbuilding and the development of offshore oil and gas production infrastructure—OMR—was held.
2015
Under license from Messe Frankfurt, one of the leaders in the European exhibition market, the "Automechanika St. Petersburg" exhibition was organized.
2016
The first bioenergy event in Russia focused on the production and sale of wood-based biofuel—the "Biofuel Congress"—was held.
2017
The first training seminar, "Technologies and Machinery of Logging Production," was held. It was later transformed into the industry's largest conference, "Logging: Analytics, Economics, Implementation of IT Solutions."
2019
In collaboration with the State Unitary Enterprise "Passazhiravtotrans," the first transport festival, SPb TransportFest, was held. It brought together highlights of the transportation industry: an exhibition of innovative vehicles and equipment, a cultural and business program, a professional drivers' skills competition, a retro parade and vintage transport exhibition, and a singer-songwriter contest.
The All-Russian Furniture Summit was renamed the "Furniture Business Forum."
2020
LLC "VO RESTEC" was among the first exhibition companies to receive a QR code certifying compliance with the Safe Activity Standard and resumed holding events in St. Petersburg and Irkutsk.
The international industrial exhibition "Petersburg Technical Fair" became the first congress and exhibition event in St. Petersburg after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
2021
In collaboration with the Khabarovsk International Fair, the exhibition "Energy of the Far Eastern Region. Energy Saving. Automation. Safety. Communications" was launched as part of the "Technoletо" project.
In partnership with the RAO/CIS Offshore shelf development conference and exhibition, a conference on the development of the Arctic Ocean shelf was held under the auspices of the Russian Federation's Chairmanship of the Arctic Council.
2022
In collaboration with the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Cluster of the Kaliningrad Region, the first exhibition of small and low-tonnage shipbuilding, SLS Russia, was held in Kaliningrad.
On the initiative of the Russian Federal Tax Service for St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the St. Petersburg Tax Forum was prepared and conducted.
Together with X7 Research, the first conference "Dialogues on Clinical Research" was held.
The "Orthodox Russia" exhibition was held in Murmansk.
2023
The 30th anniversary exhibition of energy, electrical engineering, and lighting equipment and technologies, "Energy and Electrical Engineering", was held.
A collective exposition of Russian companies was organized at the Eurasian Composites Show in Turkey.
The International Transport Festival SPbTransportFest became a laureate in the "Best MICE Event" category, serving not only as a platform for discussions on the past and future of transport but also as a venue for knowledge exchange, showcasing industry innovations and promising developments.
2024
The number of commercial exhibitors, business program participants, and visitors at RESTEC events has surpassed pre-COVID 2019 levels: our events collectively attracted 833 exhibitors, 3,986 business program delegates, and over 175,000 visitors.
The anniversary 20th International Industrial Exhibition "Petersburg Technical Fair" and the 30th Innovation Exhibition "Hi-Tech" were held.
The pharmaceutical and biotechnology project IPhEB achieved record-breaking results in its history. Five company employees completed advanced training programs from the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).
2025
In the first half of the year, 15 proprietary and 4 custom events were successfully held in St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, and Kaliningrad.
